Compensation (Pay/Benefits) Our employees are our most valuable asset; therefore, we offer competitive pay and benefits. The pay range for these positions range from $18.50 - $20.75/hour, depending on qualifications. Schedule: 30 hours/week Monday - Friday

Hours 12:30 PM - 6:30 PM (Multiple shifts available both full time and part time)

Seasonal Position (September - May) with opportunity to continue throughout the summer.

Program Summary:

The Program Lead Staff is responsible for providing services to participants with intellectual/developmental disabilities in a variety of therapeutic recreational activities in a group setting within the community. This position is responsible for providing leadership to the therapeutic recreation programs, supporting staff and participants both on and off site.

Position Overview:

Program Lead Staff will provide a safe, structured environment to build friendships, encourage physical and social activity, become involved members of the community, and embrace health and wellness. Lead Staff are responsible for up to 3 participants with disabilities at a time. Responsibilities include but are not limited to carrying out the daily operations of the program, model professionalism and provide leadership and support to the support staff, providing care to participant(s), monitoring and ensuring safety of participant(s) out in the community, integrating into group social settings, assisting with community engagement and participation, promoting developmentally appropriate activities, positive behaviors, and encouraging peer interactions among program participant(s).

Job Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • A high school diploma or GED/equivalent
  • Must have a valid drivers license, reliable transportation, and an acceptable driving record
  • Applicants must have the ability to use clear and understandable written and verbal English
  • Ability to learn and perform procedures for the care of an individual with intellectual/development disabilities.

Experience

  • Preference may be given to individuals with experience, training, and/or credits in high school/college level therapeutic recreation, recreation and leisure studies, social sciences, education, health care and/or human services.
  • No experience with people with disabilities is required; however, a desire to work with people and a willingness to learn is essential.
  • Experience with individuals with disabilities highly desired.
