On Call Paraprofessional

Program Summary: St. David's Center for Child & Family Development's Family Place program (Minnetonka/Minneapolis) is an early intervention, Preschool Mental Health Day Treatment program for young children (3.5-6) who struggle to manage their emotions and behavior at home, within their childcare/school setting and/or the larger community. Some may have experienced trauma, an early loss of or lack of consistent caregivers, various forms of abuse/neglect or may have been asked to leave typical childcare settings. Family Place has been providing services for over 30 years!

Position Overview: On-call/substitute; Family Place Day Treatment

-provide classroom support by working with individual children and/or in small groups to implement curriculum activities

-assist in providing children a structured, safe, therapeutic classroom environment

-assist with classroom set up & clean up responsibilities

-assist with curriculum preparation

-work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team to carry out therapeutic interventions and support skill development

Schedule: variable/on-call (This is an on call with variable hours. Specific Scheduling will be discussed during the interview process).

We are hiring for multiple roles at both Minnetonka and Minneapolis 

Pay: $18.65/$21.92 per hour

Job Qualifications: (Paraprofessional II)

  • Education -

-High School diploma/GED +8000 hours of experience working with children

OR

-Associates degree/Two years of full-time post secondary education + 4000 hours of experience working with children

OR

- Bachelor's degree + 1000 hours experience working with children

  • Experience -

-working with early childhood population (3-6yrs old)

-working with children who display challenging behaviors

-experience working in a classroom/group care setting

  • Preferred:
